Xavier's Year in Sports

Xavier had quite a year in sports. He tried out and made the Travel soccer team here in Amherst; they had an undefeated Fall and Indoor soccer season and then were moved up to the A division but still held their own in games. They found out how to deal with losing a game, a good lesson. We also got really crazy and decided to do Cal Ripken Baseball in Hadley, MA. They had a good season but it was definately a growing experience for Xavier who had to learn to focus and work had in a league that prides itself on its structured program. It was a good experience, I was amazed to watch Xavier in tryouts for tournament team and see the progress he has made in just a couple of months in the program. We are keeping our fingers crossed that we might make the tournament team. It is competitive getting in. We'll see. Xavier did make the A team for travel soccer for next year. He is very excited about that. I have become and expert at watching practice and games and juggling the sports schedules. It is actually one of the best parts of my week. I get to leave work behind, work on my tan, and hang out with some really great parents on the sidelines.

Running the NODM with My Brother

Wow it has been a long time since the last post and 95 pounds later plus a 10k and a mini tri, and a half marathon with my brother in Seattle I am finally starting to get close to my weight loss goal. 30 pounds to go give or take a bit.
